Right now I have many, many things on my crazy, preggo brain! I am trying to get out of the spin cycle at work and get ahead of the curve on my desk, so that I can actually have this baby somewhere other than my office. I am thinking about how nice it is that the weather is finally warm. I am thinking about that with the warm weather we are getting closer and closer to the delicious vegetables that are a-growing in our garden that will make for some uber tasty, healthy dinners that will also freeze nicely so that I can also make homemade baby food for Baby Baker. I am also thinking that while I have all the aspirations of making his precious little meals that came from our lovingly tended garden, that returning to work, juggling the life of a Kindergartner this fall with all the activities that will go along with that, and that little task of caring for a newborn might inhibit the amount of time that I will have to spend in the kitchen to make that happen for him.
I recently had the opportunity to work with Plum Organics to learn a little more about their new line of “World Baby”organic baby food. While I love that homemade food for your babies not only provides the healthiest, freshest options for them, it is also makes you fully vested in what goes in their bodies, but when time doesn’t allow this to happen it is nice to know that there is a company out there that is as committed to healthy eating for my little one as I am. What I love even more is that Plum Organics is not only focused on healthy, organic meals for little eaters at all stages, but that they have come up with a great line of level 2 (6+ months) meals that are full of flavor and really a big people dish made just for babies to help introduce them from the get-go to diverse flavors and to really train their palates to a world of delicious foods. An article that I found super helpful about the importance of introducing healthy foods and diverse flavors is 5 Facts to Inspire a Joy of Healthy Eating. Even before our babies are born, their tastes and likes and dislikes for food are being formed by what we, as mothers, eat.
As a kid growing up and now even as an adult, special meals for me are always Italian. My dad would always cook our favorite Italian dinner for birthdays, celebrations or maybe a “just because” occasion. When I discovered the Plum Organics “World Baby” line of foods, I immediately was drawn to “Italy” in their selection. Made with zucchini, spinach and then mixed together with pasta marinara, this little pouch of goodness is just what I want to introduce to Baby Baker as soon as possible. Not only is it tasty, it is certified organic and comes in this super easy to use, re-sealable pouch. I kind of feel like I hit the baby food jackpot with this line. Long gone are the bland baby foods. Before he can even crawl, I am excite that we will have another sophisticated palate in our household.
Plum Organics makes these World Baby pouches in four delicious flavors:
