Green, white and gold is a simple and classic color palette for a Spring table. The green and white is bright and cheery enough for daytime entertaining, but the gold dishes and accents can also take you into evening for an elegant dinner party. The table runner for this table is a “leftover” of sorts from my Easter tablescape, but is perfect for this color scheme adding a nice touch of pattern. The centerpiece for the table are single white hydrangeas in glass vases lined down the center of the table with glass tea light candles.
This inexpensive glass cylindrical vase (literally it was $1 at the Dollar Tree), has perfect, clean lines for a row of single stem hydrangeas down the center of the table.
A beaded gold charger layered with a soft green napkin and gold filigree plate is all you need for your placesetting for this table. The simplicity of the color palette calls for table elements that are also simple in design. If you have simple gold rimmed dishes and would to add a little pattern, top your dinner plate with a more ornate salad plate or bread plate. If you are willing to hunt a little, you will find lots of interesting dishes at antique stores, yard sales, Craigs List, Ebay, and local home decor stores.
To bring the gold into the centerpiece of the table, a thin, gold ribbon is attached around the center of the vase. Glass tea light candle holders (also from the Dollar Tree), provide golden candle light for complete color palette cohesiveness.
I found inspiration from green and white all over the yard with the azaleas, herb planters and fresh mint for my tablescape. Spring is the perfect time to find inspiration from the natural environment around you for your entertaining color palette. You can even skip the fresh flower arrangements and bring in clippings from your blooming bushes and trees as well as your herb garden. It’s spring, green is EVERYWHERE!
