I absolutely can’t believe that we are here at the 1-year mark of High Heels to Hot Wheels!! Not only does it seem impossible that an entire year has gone by, I am also completely blown away with the growth of the blog from all the love and support from my family, friends, and readers. As it says in my bio, I started this as a way to chronicle my hobbies in my own space rather than bore everyone on Facebook, but as social media goes, I now have this blog as well as the continued use of Facebook to drive everyone crazy with all my kitchen antics!!
Over the last year I have learned so much about the hobby/business of blogging. I can honestly say my photography is improving every day and I love learning more and more about my camera and how it works. I challenge myself to create new recipes that are uncomplicated, but still set apart from your everyday easy dinner. I have made lots of new friends online and hope to meet them in person someday (hence this little cocktail party).
My very first post was a Strawberry Basil Mimosa and in honor of my 1-year Blogiversary I had a Virtual Cocktail Party on my Facebook page and asked my new “frogs” (my blogging friends) to bring over a cocktail from their blogs. I hope you’re ready to party, because we’ve got a full bar!! Thank you for support and love and encouragement!! I can’t wait to celebrate with you year after year! CHEERS!!!!
This Strawberry Lemonade Margarita from Emilie of The Clever Carrot looks too good to be true! I stumble upon gorgeous blogs every day that challenge me to work harder and Emilie’s blog is definitely an inspiration!
I absolutely love Susan of 30A Eats. Not only does she live and blog about my favorite place on earth, but she has been so sweet and supportive of my blog. Mark my words…..we will meet in person and I would be honored to do a collaboration with her. She brought over these gorgeous Festive Champagne Mojitos and the fresh mint on my counter is screaming to be made into one of these.
Ruth from What’s Cooking with Ruthie brought this fabulous Summer Soiree Limeade “mocktail”. Ruthie has a fantastic blog with great videos and pictures. I contribute monthly to her blog and feel honored to have been asked!
Chris from Food Thoughts of Chef Wannabe brought Pineapple Upside Down Cake Martini to the virtual cocktail party! If you love cake, you will love this!!! FTCW has been so supportive of my blog and so many other food blogs and always encourages her fans to support other people! So sweet!
Snack break!! I met Lisa from Authentic Suburban Gourmet through the Great Food Blogger Cookie Swap and I LOVE her blog! Her recipes, photos and food styling are so inspiring! She brought Sriracha Popcorn for the party!! YUM!!
Elizabeth from Leave a Happy Plate brought her White Peach Margaritas for the party! Elizabeth is hilarious and you will think so, too! Her recipes are delicious and you will love her Tailgate Fever recipes.
Bibi from Bibi’s Culinary Journey was my first official “frog”. She had post after post about the fresh cherries in her cherry orchard in Canada and I just couldn’t help myself and reached out about a cherry cocktail happy hour collaboration! It just so happens that my Mommy’s Cherry Limeade has been one of my top posts, so it was only appropriate for Bibi to bring her cherry bellini.
