So Easy Stuffed Mushrooms

Long before we knew much about cooking, any time my sister and I would cook for friends or family, we always made stuffed mushrooms.  As simple as they are, they have always been a big hit and definitely a go-to for me when I need to prepare a meal in a hurry.  I LOVE stuffed mushrooms of all kinds, but this easy recipe is definitely tried and true and will always win over a mushroom-loving crowd.

 

So Easy Stuffed Mushrooms

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 20 minutes

Yield: 3 servings

Serving Size: 3-4 mushrooms

Perfect as a side dish or appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 1 container (8 oz) large fresh mushrooms
  • 1 tsp low sodium soy sauce
  • 3 oz reduced fat cream cheese
  • 2 tbsp turkey sausage crumbles
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion salt
  • Shredded Parmesan Cheese

Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F
  2. Using a wet paper towel, wipe mushrooms clean and carefully remove stems.
  3. In a glass baking dish, place mushrooms in a shallow amount of water. Drizzle with soy sauce and microwave for 5 minutes to soften mushrooms.
  4. Combine cheese, sausage, garlic powder and salt.
  5. Drain mushrooms and fill with cheese mixture. Top with shredded parmesan cheese.
  6. Place back in glass dish and bake for 12-15 minutes or until cheese mixture is heated through and mushrooms are tender.
